- The total quantity is the amount used on the patient, excluding waste. This is matched to the amount you input on your invoice.
- The waste is the additional amount of medication drawn from your container that was not used on or invoiced to your patient and should be separated from the total quantity and added into the "Waste" section
Can the "waste" area be used for individual syringe hub loss?
- We do not recommend using the “waste” area for hub loss on a patient level. There is not a definite way to determine the exact amount of hub loss. A variety of factors are involved, including the size of the needle, the number of times a vial has been punctured, etc. Therefore, we recommend logging hub loss at a container level at the end of the life of the container.

- If the entry has already been logged, you can locate the entry within the Pending section of the Reconcile tab. Select the entry and select the Waste Log button. This will convert this to a waste entry in your logbook.
