• The invoice number will be found on the invoice that came in the box when the container was shipped. The exact location of the number will depend on the distributor.

    • We recommend putting a dash (-) after the invoice number and the vendor or manufacturer it was purchased from (MWI or Pat for Patterson)

  • The NDC and lot number can be found on the container label. Sometimes the NDC number can be displayed as the NADA number instead.

    • If you are unable to locate the NDC/NADA number you can contact the manufacturer for this information.

    • If you are using VetSnap for your Prescription Drug Monitoring submissions, we recommend inputting the NDC number without any dashes, and the NDC must be 11 digits in length.

    • For help with converting an NDC number that is not 11 digits see NDC Number Conversion

  • We suggest setting your container name as the year with a dash, and the number of the container. Example: “2022-1 or 22-1” and “2022-2 or 22-1”, and so on. If your practice has a container numbering system already in place, you can continue to use your own format.

  • The lot number is an identifier number from the manufacturer that is assigned to a batch of medications.
