- The log entry can be edited within the Reconcile tab
- There are a few different ways that a log entry can be edited. The route to take is dependent on the scenario.
Editing to account for waste:
- If a log entry has already been created, but the full amount was not administered to the patient, the log entry needs to be edited:
- The previously logged weights will need to be retained before removing them by selecting the red "X"
- The pre and post-weights will need to be re-entered next to the container that was used.
- If you are unsure of the pre and post weights these fields can be left blank.
- The true quantity administered to the patient should be input into the quantity field
- The additional amount withdrawn from the container but not administered should be entered into the "waste" field
- Enter a comment explaining why you are adjusting the log entry and enter a signature and pin.
Editing to add an additional amount
- If no log entries have been logged from that container since the log that needs to be edited:
- The previously logged pre-weight will need to be retained before removing the weights by selecting the red "X"
- The pre-weight will need to be re-entered, and the new post-weight will need to be entered.
- The new total quantity should be entered in the quantity field
- If log entries have beencreated since the log entry that needs to be edited:
- The bottle will need to be weighed before and after the additional amount is removed from the container to obtain a new pre and post-weight.
- The correct additional quantity should be entered in the quantity field.
- The new total quantity will show an updated amount that includes the previous quantity and the additional quantity.
