A negative balance warning indicates that VetSnap's calculated total usage from a container has exceeded its starting quantity. This discrepancy can occur for several reasons.

  • A new container was opened, but the wrong container was selected in another log.
    • The incorrect log may still be open for modifications (i.e., not archived). If so, you can adjust the container selection in that log within the reconcile tab.
    • If the incorrect log is already archived, click on it to open it within the logbook and select the Ignore option. This action will correct the container balance automatically. Once the log is ignored you can recreate the log using the correct information.
  • The actual quantity in the container, as supplied by the manufacturer, exceeded the expected amount.

How Do I Correct a Negative Balance?

  • If the issue is due to an incorrect log entry, modify the open log or adjust the container records in Manage Containers if the log is archived.
  • If the container holds more than expected, continue using it until it is physically empty. Then, navigate to Manage Containers and mark it as Finished.
  • You can manually adjust the balance in Manage Containers to correct any discrepancies.
