Weight tracking in VetSnap acts as a double-check system. Even if you're logging by weight, you will still record the volume in milliliters (ml) along with the weight. This ensures accuracy and compliance in controlled drug usage records.
How to Enable Weight Tracking for a Drug
VetSnap allows you to enable weight tracking for specific drugs. To do this:
Navigate to Settings > Create Inventory.
Click on the drug name you'd like to modify.
In the drug details, change the Measurement Type to Weight.
Keep the Unit Size as ml.
Note: This change applies only to new containers created after the update. Existing containers will still display measurements in ml when closing.
VetSnap supports two different methods for tracking drugs by weight:
1. Pre and Post Weight
You weigh the container before and after each use and enter the actual quantity used.
2. Mass to Quantity Conversion
The before and after weights are entered, and VetSnap calculates the amount that should be dispensed. This is based on a mass-to-quantity ratio. You will then enter the actual quantity used.
